Question: Do you believe that the style of leadership matters in leading a company? How did you Manage your agency all these years? Liana: Every leader has a different style of management. As long as everyone is passionate about what they do, the rest automatically follows. I believe that leading by example creates a positive environment and inspires the workforce to do the same. I learn from my employees on a daily basis and I listen to them and deliver to create a high-vibrational work environment. Since Covid, my whole agency went remote and that created more creativity to work on campaigns. When everybody works smart for the brand, consumers receive excellent service, bringing positive reviews and feedback to the company. Taking our clients from zero to heroes and making them into irresistible brands, that is our mission. Now that is a cycle that every leader would want to have.

Question: Would it be a good time to start a business in our current state?

Liana Zavo: The new normal proved to be a complicated situation for everyone. Businesses had to adjust and pivot according to the new rules and health protocols to keep everyone safe. I suggest studying the latest trends and keeping an eye on where the demand is. Always keep moving like a shark! Social media is an ideal place to start since brands have switched completely digital to boost their presence online. Simply put, they are saying that our entire existence is cancellable, or in the hands of others, which conflicts with basic human rights ideology. While their opinion has some truth, we face risks in the real world, too—we are even ‘cancellable’ in a way if someone decides to attack and kill us in the street. The reality of limited technology access for women is a big problem in Denmark says Michaela Jamelska: Similarly, existing web-based educational platforms can offer women access to education and proficiency training that can aid in their professional growth but despite their availability the gender gap in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) fields persists. This is due to several factors such as lack of funding to deploy these solutions globally, a lack of internet infrastructure and others. Even in developed countries, the percentage of women in the STEM workforce remains very low at only 28%. While there are other contributing factors such a workplace discrimination, the number is still striking. This leads to a new set of problems, such as biased technological development. For example, facial recognition technology has been found to be less accurate in identifying women than men, which can have implications for women’s safety and security. This is just one example of how technology can sustain pre-existing gender prejudices and strengthen gender disparities if the fundamental concern of equal access to technology is not addressed.

So, it is utopian and unrealistic to think we can have unbiased technologies with multimodal training systems, as even we human beings are not free of bias. Furthermore, the new algorithmic accountability policies stress a prioritization of public participation to develop more democratic and equal systems.
