Amazing Mediterranean yachting places today

Amazing Mediterranean yachting locations today? The French Riviera has no shortage of trendy outposts, but St Tropez earns extra points for its recent revamp along Pampelonne Beach. YachtCharterFleet had the pleasure of heading down to St Tropez last year to check it out; and came back with some first-hand insight into the new (eco-friendly) beach club scene. After a morning exploring the pink streets of St Tropez, cruise over to Pampelonne in time for lunch. Be sure to book ahead for Club 55, the most iconic venue in the Cote d’Azur, and try and reserve a coveted table in the later lunchtime slot if you’re looking to rub shoulders with Hollywood heavyweights and the A-list elite. For some post-lunch entertainment, head to Verde Beach. Expect blast-from-the-past beats and dancing on the tables, as the St Tropez in-crowd transform Verde Beach into the most happening party in Pampelonne. Head back to the main port for dinner- L’Opera has got the ‘the dinner and a show’ concept down to an art.

The Ionian Islands are a great choice for a yacht holiday – as the sailing time between islands is short. Sailing here is also well sheltered, with easy holding anchorages. This allows for more time to be enjoyed onshore. The Ionian Islands include the legendary Corfu and Paxos, among 5 other islands. Each destination here is loaded with its own unique charm and drawcards. Between the sheer natural beauty and the wonderful Greek towns – the Ionian Islands is always a favourite cruising ground in this country.

This is a much more touristy option but the Balearics still make a beautiful European sailing destination, and you can avoid the crowds if you know-how. The cluster of Spanish islands include Ibiza, Mallorca, Menorca and Formentera; all major holiday spots known for their sun-drenched beaches and sparkling blue waters. Also include a few stops to the pretty, unspoilt towns of Deia in Mallorca and the secluded Ibizan bay of Cala Llentrisca. Discover extra info on Mediterranean yacht cruises in 2021.

Low season typically refers to any time outside of the high season periods. Groups of families and friends looking for a relaxing luxury vacation are advised to avoid high season weeks and opt for weeks outside of this time. The busiest periods are of course reflected in the charter costs and can be up to 15 to 30 percent more expensive than typical low season periods. Chartering a few weeks either side of these busy periods can be almost exactly the same, with the weather almost unchanged in some places, with far less crowds. Whatever the terms of your charter contract, you should understand the Advance Provisioning Allowance. This is an amount of about 20-25 per cent of the charter fee for a “plus all expenses” charter and about five per cent for an “all inclusive” charter. It is sent to the yacht before the charter to provision the yacht according to your preferences.

Sailing tip of the day: Overlaying radar on the chart helps to interpret the display! The biggest problem most of us face when interpreting radar is lack of familiarity. We go about our daily business most of the year, then come aboard, hit the fog and turn it on. Unfortunately, unlike GPS, AIS and the rest, radar is more of a conversation between the operator and the instrument, so it’s not surprising we have trouble interpreting the picture. When I’m motoring, I, therefore, make a practice of keeping my radar transmitting even in good visibility and running an overlay on the chartplotter to keep me familiar with its drawbacks. The image above, for example, clearly shows that what the radar sees may not stack up with what the chart is telling me. Note how the trace seems mysteriously to end halfway up the coast. So it does, but that’s because the echo returning from high cliffs in the south gets lost when the land falls away to lower-lying estuarial terrain. The echo ends either because the flat shoreline isn’t providing a good enough target, or because the coast falls below the scanner’s visual horizon.

Europe’s fabulous yachting places

World’s excellent yacht sailing places? The hedonistic hotspot of Ibiza has had a shakeup in the last few years. Sure, you can still go for the epic nightlife and parties, but dedicate a few days of your superyacht vacation to exploring the burgeoning health and wellness scene that’s sweeping the White Isle. Drop anchor at Playa d’en Bossa, then head to Beachouse for a sunrise yoga session on the sand. Lunch calls for a trip inland to Aubergine, a farm-to-table restaurant in the midst of olive groves and pine trees (ask your charter broker about calling ahead to book a car).

A sailing holiday around France covers some of the most famous Mediterranean beaches and European port towns. The French Riviera is one of the most sought-after yachting destinations in Europe – with many well-known towns, cities, and beaches along this coast. Some of the best destinations here for a cruising holiday include Corsica, Saint-Tropez, Cannes, Nice, Lorient, and many more. These are places that attract the rich and famous – so you can expect plenty of luxuries to be enjoyed in the towns. The French Riviera is one of the most popular destinations in Europe for a sunny sailing holiday. This is thanks to the magnificent beaches, picture-perfect towns, azure waters and calm sailing routes.

Aside from seasons and events, yachts of the same size may also differ in price and this may be down to a vast difference in on board amenities. A yacht which boasts an on board cinema or lavish water toys may have a higher base rate compared with a yacht of minimal amenities of the same size. If it is unclear as to why two yachts of the same size are vastly different in price, ask your yacht broker to explain what the differences are. Once you are clear on what the base price is and why, it is important to discover what costs will be applicable on top and this is dependent on the type of charter contract used. Find additional info on https://intersailclub.com/. The Caribbean Terms Inclusive (CTI), which is sometimes called Standard Caribbean Terms (SCT), is more inclusive. Three meals per day and fuel for four hours of cruising a day are included. Some yachts under CTI terms include basic beverages (not vintage wines or champagnes), but this is mainly in the Virgin Islands.

Sailing tip of the day: When I was looking to buy a used boat a few years back, I was horrified at the state of many of the yachts I came across. Do people try to sell their homes with a pile of rusty motor parts strewn around the front room or a heap of soaking bedding moldering in the master bedroom? Speaking with brokers about this, the better ones refuse to keep boats in slum condition on their books. Others, however, don’t seem to care. Presentation matters if you want to get anywhere near your asking price. Even if you can’t be fussed to have varnish looking like the hatch pictured above, at least spend a weekend tidying up. Buyers will think you seamanlike, and your boat will both have a flying start and shift every time in preference to that same model in the next berth offered by the Dumpsters’ Union.

Online seminary programs by WBS

Theology schools online from wbs.edu? You can learn and earn: Many students who take online classes are full-time professionals looking to get ahead in their careers. Even if you’re not currently working full-time, distance learning courses offer you a flexible schedule that allows you to learn and work at the same time, and pay your way through college. Forget about geographical boundaries! Since you can complete a distance-learning course from anywhere, you are not bound by geography. You can choose any school that offers the program you want, no matter where it’s located anywhere in the country, or even internationally. Plus, if you ever relocate, you don’t have to worry about transferring to another school.

Online tutoring is inherently convenient, but adjusting to an online-only learning format can be difficult for students accustomed to the classroom environment. Once you’ve identified the best online tutor for you or your child’s needs, then it’s important to make a plan of attack. If the program is self-guided, review the curriculum and map out a daily, weekly or monthly schedule. For more structured programs, determine how and when the coursework will be completed in conjunction with on-campus learning, extracurricular activities, employment, and other obligations. Contact the tutor who will be interfacing with you or your child for advice on how to make sure all the assigned coursework is completed and that the student’s progress is realized.

The Certificate in Bible and Theology equips students to study Scripture and understand Christian theology. Students will graduate from the program with a deep, historic grasp of the Christian faith and the ability to go beyond the surface when interpreting the Bible. This Certificate is for anyone who wants to have a deep understanding of the Bible and Christian theology. A part-time student can complete the Certificate in 4 semesters. The entire program can be completed online, allowing you to participate in the program from anywhere in the world! All credits earned in the Certificate can be applied towards a Master of Arts or Master of Divinity degree at WBS. Discover even more information on website.

The modern classroom has changed in recent years. Teaching methods, technology, subject choices and assessment metrics have all transformed education for the students of today. But one thing remains constant: Learning has always been enhanced by personal, one-to-one support, and students who receive personal tutoring perform better than those who don’t. Online tutoring is an increasingly popular option for students – however many parents still wrestle with the question: “Is an online option right for my child’s learning and my family’s needs?”

WBS offers two types of seminary classes online: forum-based and real-time. Forum-based: Through the use of Populi, our online platform, professors and students learn from lectures, share resources, engage in conversations, and submit assignments. Students have maximum flexibility in these courses to do the work and submit assignments in ways that is most convenient for them. While there are still due dates and high course expectations, students can learn in the way that best fits their schedule. See even more details on here.

Senegal best travel attractions and travel agencies

Dakar, Senegal top travel locations to visit and the best airlines to get there? OK, so it’s not technically in Dakar, but a day trip to the Petite Côte (Small Coast) is a terrific way to see what Senegal has to offer without venturing too far from the capital. Encompassing 70 kilometres of unspoilt, golden coastline between the Cap-Vert Peninsula (Dakar) and the Sine-Saloum Delta, the Petite Côte is dotted with distinctive seaside villages. Dine in style on the beach at Popenguine, go oyster hunting on the lagoon in Somone, kick back in the classy resort of Saly, or catch a wave and wander the old town of Toubab Dialao. And given its proximity to the new airport, a day out on the Côte is a great way to unwind before a flight.

In the north of the country, the historic city of Saint Louis perches upon an island at the mouth of the Senegal River. Founded in the 17th century as the first French settlement in West Africa, the city once served as the colony’s capital and is now known for the beauty of its European architecture. Saint Louis was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2000, and its most iconic landmark is the Pont Faidherbe, a stunning bridge completed at the end of the 19th century.

IFAN Museum exhibits traditional & seminal art works and artefacts from chiefly West African countries like Senegal, Mali, Ivory Coast, Guinea Bissau and Burkina Faso. The museum holds the vastest collection of the artefacts from Francophone Africa. IFAN Museum is a hub for African artists and West African studies. Moreover, Dakar Biennale is held here annually. Cathedral of Dakar is an enormous structure with unique chapels and artisanal sculptures in it. Having been serving as the prime center of worship for the Christian minority of Senegal, Cathedral Dakar is one of the must-see attractions of the city. Especially on Sundays during the mass time, this cathedral is exceptionally vivid and beautiful. Discover even more information at here.

Make sure you visit the Dakar IFAN Museum to watch outstanding collection of West African and Senegalese masks, amazing musical instruments, and remarkable statues. You can find this magnificent museum in Dakar, the capital of Senegal. In Dakar, you can also find some of the worth-visiting markets, such as many main markets and Marche de Tilene. Don’t miss visiting some of the stunning coastal beaches to enjoy swimming that you can find on the Ile de Madeleinea in the vicinity of this capital city.

Yacht sailing destinations and boat sailing recommendations

Trying to find the top yachting locations in Europe? Sailing around Europe: It’s safe to say, with its hugely diverse cultures and highly varied geography, that sailing around Europe is on innumerable bucket lists. The Greek islands will strike a chord with many, as each set of islands offer charterers something wholly unique. The Ionian on Greece’s west coast is dotted with delightful villages including Kioni on Ithaca or Fiskardo on Kefalonia, while the Cyclades chain to the east boasts gorgeous islands such as Mykonos, Ios and the incredible Santorini. In nearby Turkey, Bodrum on the Gulf of Gokova sees keen sailors flock from all over the world, and for good reason. Here, they experience untouched coves on the water and invigorating nightlife and impressive restaurants on the coast. Those more interested in Croatia will find over 1,100 islands to explore, made all the easier with reliably gentle winds and a myriad of beautiful harbours. If Italy is more your style, the Aeolian Islands just off of Sicily provide considerable environmental variety, including the unforgettable black sands of Stromboli and the hot springs of the island of Vulcano.

Sailing tip of the day: Every cruising yacht should carry one or two extra-long lines. Shock-absorbing, super-strong nylon is the favorite, but cost may dictate that you use whatever you can lay hands on. The lines may not see daylight for years until some unforeseen contingency turns up. But on that day, nothing else will do, as they can, for example, be bent to the end of an anchor cable that suddenly seems too short, or serve as a life-saver in a monster raftup. I once used mine on a simple dock under a mountain when a katabatic wind fell off a glacier at midnight and started to rip the pontoon off its moorings. I ran my super-long line ashore to a tree, brought the end back to the windlass and cranked it tight. The line saved my boat and the dock as well.

Island hopping around the Greek islands is at the top of many a traveller’s bucket list and the famously beautiful Ionian islands are a great place to begin. Start from Corfu or Lefkada and then meander through turquoise seas stopping off at each of the seven large islands and some of the smaller ones along the way (Paxoi and Antipaxoi make excellent sailing destinations). Expect all the usual cliched Greek images such as harbours filled with coloured fishing boats, white-washed villages, beautiful beaches, rugged mountains and traditional tavernas. Read extra info at InterSailClub.

Some top Aegean destinations include Franchini, Nafplion, Crete, and the islands of Hydra and Spetses. These are places brimming with unique Greek culture, history, and arts. The Aegean actually contains over 2000 islands – meaning that a cruising holiday here is full of opportunity. Just like the Ionian Islands, the Aegean is well set-up for anyone wanting to do a sailing holiday in Greece. The islands here offer quality amenities, helpful ports, and plenty of calm places to dock. Some other top destinations in Greece for a beach holiday include Vassiliki, Porto Heli, Horto Pelion, and Kos. If you’re after the dream European summer holiday, it could hardly get better than Greece.
